Hello Blogsters and  Bloggettes!  I’m happy as a punch drunk boxer in the days of bare fisticuffs to tell you that my new double disc rampage know as “John Loves Leslie” is nearing completion!  This fall, I will have several more songs off the two discs for you to peruse, download, and/or cavort to on our illustrious on-line, indie label:  Anticorprecords.com!!!  This double disc was once a single disc outing with a band I was in during that glorious 2004-05 era!  We were called Leslie Fletcher and we performed our live shows with miniature instruments!  The self-titled disc, released in June of 2005, was an instant classic.  But, it wasn’t classic enough!  To make it more, how shall I put this . . . CLASSIC, it simply needed MORE!!  And soon you’ll get MORE!!  80 minutes of truly delicious music on 2 discs!  And here’s a little info for you that could possibly tittilate your buns:  4 of the 26 items are not written by your teacher and guide John Charles!!  They are written by my band members and friends Glenn Kindlmann (featured on Manufactured Relevance and Metagimp . . . also on Anticorprecords.com) and Johnny Becker!  I’d like to tell you that I thoroughly demoralized and humiliated these two during our tenure as Leslie Fletcher . . . but I didn’t.  I actually treated them with a fair amount of kindness, which isn’t a very original idea.  And it’s not as EPIC as hating each other but staying together for decades.  But listen . . .

Saturday, August 2:  Private Party for the Advancement of Science in Ham Lake, Minnesota . . . that’s where most of the really good science is being done these days!

Saturday, August 23, 9-11pm:  Copperrock Cafe in Appleton, Wisconsin!  I’ve never played this venue before.  But, I understand the Dermitology  Coalition had its annual fundraiser there back in 1984.  That’s a big 10-4 in my book!!

Thank you for reading on!  I’m here to say WELCOME to Anticorprecords (with just a smidge of dot com thrown in for taste!)  If you’ve read any of my recent blogses (this is the correct pronounciation . . . you just didn’t know it) on my myspace page (www.myspace.com/johncharlesongs) you have seen that I have videos from a youtube site covering up my Bio, my interests, my books (which I refuse to read), or anything else about me!  That was planned, my fine feathered fiends!  I planned it with great cunning and skill!!!!!!  Or did I??   Okay . . . I didn’t.  (Goll . . . you guys sure know how to get the truth out of someone!  You;re almost TOO good!)  Sam Welter was kind enough to put the videos on the myspace page.  But now there’s no ABOUT JOHN CHARLES space, except in my blogs. 

   So . . . are you ready to read about me in myspace fashion?  You ARE?  Let’s begin, shall we?!

     El Bio:  I was born under a billboard in Santa Monica, California and was given the name “Bluke” because that’s the sound that was made upon my being “bluked” out of my mother.  We were a haughty sheep herding family living in Bel Air . . . Bel Air being an automobile that was abandoned on the same street where actor Peter Graves was living.  Yes, we knew we had “made it” when we had managed to live, all 14 of us, in that car on that street for almost 6 days!  Ah . . . but that was a simpler time.  Filled with the promise of sand . . . from the beach . . . in our clothes, hair, and ears!  Eventually, I grew up, started playing music, and got the sand out of my ears.  And that, my friends, is enough for anybody!  The End . . . Or Is It???

Interests:  Well, if I had any, I certainly didn’t mention them here.

Books:  People tell me that I have actually read a few.  But, did I list them here?  Do you see any book titles listed here?  You’re being silly!!

Records and CDs:  I have sailed, come to think of it.  It was fun, until 9:18 pm on a very dark and stormy night!  I remember it like it was yesterday because IT WAS YESTERDAY . . . OH GOD!!  WHY DID YOU HAVE TO BRING THAT UP?!?  ALL THAT TRAUMA!!!!  But, actually, the boat did have a stereo on board and we played The Beatles White Album, Bjork, and John Philip Sousa.

Moving Pictures:  Little Britain, Mstk3000, and lots of romantic comedies to fill in the increasingly dark void that is undulating throughout all of existance . . . I mean . . . I love romantic comedies!!  They make me feel all tingly and fresh!
